The building is located in the historic center of Barchi (PU).
It is not known exactly when it was built the Palazzo Comunale di Barchi, now the Town Hall.
In 1576 we speak expressly of the Palazzo del Podesta separate from the building of the municipality.
In 1577, other documents are clearly mentions the building of the vicarage of Barchi distinct from the palace of the community always above the door.
In 1588 consigliari instead acts are drawn up in the palace of the community "prope turrim."
After the restoration of the eighties can be accessed until the white stone balustrade from which the hexagonal spire above the belfry.
A portico with four arches marks the elevation of the municipal building and still retains, under the remains of the sixteenth-century fresco of a sandstone somewhat consumed by time, some old marks for the measures.
