The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva . There is a linga (symbol of Lord Shiva) mounted on a pedestal inside the inner sanctum, and local legend has that the linga (symbol of Lord Shiva) was established by Lord Ram when he was on vanvas(Exile).
Temple for Linga (symbol of Lord Shiva) was devloped by "Mahant Pralhadgiri Maharaj" and after he passed away
"Mahant Sunilgiri Maharaj" took responsibility and re-devloped temple as well as place near temple.
