St. Anne's Church to the Cemetery (Sigillo)

The church is located west of the town of Sigillo (PG) .
St. Anne's Church to the Cemetery is located along the Flaminia Vecchia , just outside the historic center of Seal , leaning against the wall of the cemetery street . The building , built in the mid- fifteenth century, was originally an oratory , was later expanded and modified . The statement , made ​​entirely of stone , keeps a frescoed lunette of 1633 , attributed to P. Ferri.
The small church , a square , has a single nave with a vault. The walls are entirely covered with frescoes. The paintings , attributed to Matteo da Gualdo Peter and his son Jerome, was carried out between 1435 and 1507. The first can remember : the Annunciation , the Madonna and Child Enthroned , St George, St Sebastian , St Anthony the Abbot ( 1487) ; St. Anne with the Virgin and Child ( 1484) ; a Our Lady of Mercy (1484 ) ; a Madonna and Child Enthroned (1484 ) . A Madonna del Soccorso, St. Dominic and St. John the Evangelist is instead attributed to his son Jerome.
Complete the pictorial decoration at the end of the seventeenth century , P. Ferri realizes that the wall behind the altar , the crucifix , St. Sebastian and St. Roch, a chapel and outside the Apotheosis of St. Anne and the Virgin Mary , venerated by saints.
