Opened in 1980, this giant complex of offices, an Odeon cinema, and a dingy row of shops behind a rather gloomy colonnade at street level was originally Amoco House - the London HQ of the American oil company Amoco, who themselves are long gone - having been swallowed up by BP back in the '90s. The building is now simply a bog standard office block known by its street address, even though most of it fronts Tottenham Court Road.

A major redevelopment is taking place between 2013-15 which will see the entire row of shops closed (as yet more of TCR's famous electronics retailers bite the dust...), to allow a massive redevelopment to take place. The shops will all be made bigger and better, and the colonnade fronting TCR will be improved to be less dank and more pedestrian friendly.
