3-story residential building originally completed in 1819 as a 2.5-story rowhouse. From 1833 to 1849, the house was rented by John Springsteen, a carpenter/wood inspector. No. 132 was acquired in 1849 by the Springsteen family, who added a full third floor to the house in 1853 (and also constructed the house next door at 130 Charles). The Springsteen family lost Nos. 132 and 130 Charles Street to foreclosure in 1914. This building was then converted to a multiple dwelling with apartments. It became a single-family house again after 1946. Stucco, which had covered the front façade since before the 1930s, was removed and replaced with a yellow fiber cement siding that resembles wood clapboards in 2006.
