Bypass for juvinlle fish migrating downstream to the ocean. Wide fan shape design at base is to reduce dissolved gasses in the water to which can kill the fish and is a problem when they pass through the regular spillways. The bypass at Wanapum dam is 254 feet long and completed in 2008 as part of a $35 million research project.
