About 300 acres of Melon producing farms. Worked mostly by Indonesian Buginese contract farmers, the sweet melons of red or yellow variety are marketed far and wide. Some buyers come as far as from Brunei and Miri as well as Labuan. The local landowners are just waiting to sell their land to the nearby oil and gas industries. Fetching up to RM500 thousand per acre some land owners can become instant millionaires.
