A plain located in the lower interior region of Sabah. Peopled largely by indigenous Muruts on the southwest portion and KadazanDusuns in the Northeast. The plain is quite dry and soil conditions sandy subjected to frequent forest fires. The plain is traversed from east to west by portion of the Keningau-Tawau highway with a road cutting through to the north and reaching to the foothills of scenic Mt Trus Madi. Potentials exist for tourism development.
