3-story school building completed in the 1850s as a townhouse. It was converted to apartments in the early 1900s, and purchased by the Little Red Schoolhouse's Elisabeth Irwin High School, for additional space to their main building, next door at 40 Charlton Street. The 3-bay wide building is clad in red brick above a brownstone basement, with a high stoop leading to full-length parlor floor windows. The windows all have brown metal cornices and footed sills, and the doorway has a brownstone surround with paneled pillars and a peaked lintel above the cornice. A simple, white metal modillioned roof cornice caps the facade.
