The church has a fresco with the image of the Virgin.
According to documentary evidence it seems that over the centuries the church has hosted many pilgrims who came here to worship the sacred image of the Mother of Christ that would alergito Thanks a lot.
It was invoked for protection from cholera but also to safeguard the crops. The church also contains many votive offerings placed at the foot of the image. Even if the earthquake damaged the building is still celebrated the feast by local believers through a function outside on the square in front of the sanctuary.
Inside, the church has a simple structure with a single nave, in the course of 1700 the building was completely rebuilt.
