museum, school, NRHP - National Register of Historic Places

Murphy’s Old School House was constructed in 1860 and since then there has been no major architectural or structural changes to the building. It has been used as a school house since its construction up until 1973 when a new school was built. After the closing of the school for educational purposes, the old school house was transferred to the Murphy's Community Club and the Veteran's Memorial District to be maintained as a community building and small museum. At the time of its closing, it was the longest running school west of the Mississippi River.
