The hotel was designed in Liberty style by architect Dario Carbone and built in 1905 and is a member of the Historical Locations of Italy since 2012

During World War II, this building housed a German command center and at the end of the war it housed the National Liberation Committee of Upper Italy (Comitato di Liberazione Nazionale dell'Alto Paese). The hotel is renowned for the scenic elliptical white marble staircase that spirals up to the top floor. Over the years the hotel has hosted famous and notable guests, among them the emperor of Japan Hirohito and writers Edmondo De Amicis, Luigi Pirandello and Gabriele D'Annunzio.

In 1926, Alfred Hitchcock stayed in the hotel during the filming of the film The Pleasure Garden and it is said that the elliptical staircase of the hotel gave him inspiration for the film Vertigo.

The hotel is currently managed by Gruppo Duetorrihotels Spa.

The ground floor currently houses three clothing stores

Welcome to Bristol Palace Hotel

The Bristol Palace is an elegant, 4 star hotel in the heart of Genoa, not far from the Ducal Palace, the Carlo Felice Theatre and the most significant museums and historical buildings. It is perfectly positioned for anyone wishing to get to the Old Port where the convention centres, the Genoa Aquarium, the Galata museum and the children's city are located.

During its recent renovation its elegance and exclusiveness were blended with a modern and functional conception of the services. The hotel has 133 rooms and 10 reception rooms to host conventions, banquettes and receptions, up to 200 people.

There are WiFi internet connections, film and MEDIASET sports channels and a guarded private garage with valet service to complete the range of services offered.

The dramatic elliptical staircase in white and Liberty wrought-iron banister soars up to the top floor in a spectacular spiral that seems to be suspended in space.
