Genova Piazza Principe Railway Station (Коммуна Генуя)

Italy / Ligurien / Genoa / Коммуна Генуя / Piazza Acquaverde
Trenitalia, bus station, head house (train station)

This is the main station for trains coming from the North (Milan, Turin...) and the West (France, Western Riviera). Principe station is connected to the second main station of Genova, Brignole, by a long tunnel. Many trains stop at both the stations, but not all of them, so check on the timetable on www.trenitalia.it.

There's also a subway (tube) station called "Principe" but it's by now not connected to the railways station: you have to go out and walk towards the harbour to get into the subway.

There's also an underground station for local trains called "Principe Sotterranea": here stop most trains coming from the Western side of Genova (Voltri, Pegli, Sampierdarena...) and going to Brignole and the East (Sturla, Quarto, Quinto, Nervi).

  • what is the best way to get to the rail terminal from the Port after disembarking froma MSC Cruise?
  • I have a similar questions. I am arriving at the MSC Cruise Terminal and need to get to Brignole Train Station. Does the Principe Railway Station go there and if so can I take luggage on it as I am coming off of a cruise.
