Libyan Desert glass (LDG), or Great Sand Sea glass is a substance found in areas in the eastern Sahara, in the deserts of eastern Libya and western Egypt. Fragments of desert glass can be found over areas of tens of square kilometers.

The Libyan Desert is one of the driest, harshest and most remote parts of the Sahara, the world's largest hot desert. This extended desert country is barren, dry and rainless.

Polygraph shows a smaller part of the area in the Great Sand Sea, where Silica mineral glas (Lbyian Glass), but also other nice minerals can be found. If you visit the area, do not take any away, too much has vanished already.
