92,000 sq. ft., furniture store which closed in 2000, has been converted into 67 loft apartments and retail at street level. In 1901, AP Kungelmann opened a small store on Mitchell Street. JT Esser came into the business in 1904. As the business prospered the building was expanded to a include a three story building and an eight story building.
