The castle of Carmagnola was built in the 13th century by Manfredi II, marquis of Saluzzo. It was later damaged by the Spanish and restored by the French in the 16th century. From 1700 to 1863, it served as a convent of the Philippine Fathers. Since then, it has been used for municipal administration.
