The oldest river bridge in town and one of the remaining six bridges in Franconia spanning the river dating back to the Middle Ages. First mentioned in 1300, the same year Kitzingen was mentioned for the first time as a city. In 1955 the ancient bridge had to sacrifice its middle arch bows to make room for larger ships to pass under it after the river had been dammed up by locks.
