Florida, Henry County, Ohio
Florida is one of the oldest and could possibly be the oldest settlement in the county. Its origin goes back to the early days of the Miami & Erie Canal. Florida did a flourishing business, but the railroads took away the town's business when they were built a few miles on either side of town. Napoleon to the east and Defiance to the west then absorbed most of the former canal business, and grew, while Florida remained much as it was.
