In 1852, Emperor of Austria-Hungary, Francis Joseph (1848-1916), visiting Transylvania and passes through Boiţa to come and meet in the Turnu-Roşu pass at Râu Vadului border with the ruler of the Romanian Land Barbu Ştirbei (1846-1854 ). In memory of this visit was built a beautiful fountain (Şipote) called up today "Emperor Fountain".
