  • Manav Sthali School has always aimed at nurturing leaders of the future and has always given the students a platform to pursue their endeavors and make them reach cherishable heights. Under the direction and supervision of Mrs. Mamta V Bhatnagar, Director and Founder Principal, Manav Sthali’s commitment to promotion of various activities such as Academics, Sports, Biotechnology, Fashion Studies and others has widely been acknowledged. The school is once again pioneer in introducing ‘Media Studies and Appreciation’ as an elective subject at senior secondary level for the session 2010-2011. The subject is introduced by the Central board of Secondary Education as a pilot project in a few selected schools of Delhi. Manav Sthali has always been very versatile and flexible as far as the selection of subjects by the students is concerned. Mrs. Bhatnagar has broken the barriers of rigidity and streamlined bent of minds and has layed emphasis on a holistic development of a child. If at one end there are subjects like Fashion Studies, Informatic Practices, Entrepreneurship, Sculpture, Commercial Arts, Multimedia and Web technology being offered to the students of humanities and commerce streams, she has been certain to make the same choice of subjects available for the students of science stream also, along with a few more attractions like Bio-technology and Computer sciences, apart from their main core subjects. Media studies is intended to make students understand the role of media and its evolution as an indispensable part of life. Under the guidance of the able faculty members, the students will be given a platform to be a witness to the creative as well as the technical advancements pacing around them. The course includes basic knowledge about the various softwares and stages of production like reporting, framing, composition, writing, editing, sound effects, picturisation, variably for Television and Print Media, Radio, Internet, Advertising, Journalism, Public Relations and so on. The course opens a wide spectrum of career options for the students from working as a journalist, editor, writer, public relations officer, creative director, radio jockey, video jockey, television anchors, producers, etc, to running a production house, ad agency or a news channel of their own, wherein they can help the job-hunters by giving them an opportunity to work with them and thus help the country get rid of the ‘unemployment ’. The students can also pursue several distinct career paths in the course of their professional lives, sometimes “inventing” new jobs for themselves as technologies and industries change and hence, exploring a number of career options for the generations ahead which would help strengthen the economic growth and development of the country indeed. With a well equipped audio-visual and technological infrastructure at the school, the students would be able to develop themselves with appropriate tools of creativity and would be exposed to the upcoming world of Media to grow as true media professionals.
