The Tiffany, also known as The Hotel, at 801 Collins Avenue, was designed by Lawrence Murray Dixon and opened in 1939. The L-shaped building, whose design echoes that of the nearby Essex House, presents a continuous street-fronting mass along Collins Avenue, but is stepped back to create a southeast-facing courtyard that opens views to the ocean. A prominent rounded corner is crowned by a signage finial spire that looms over a patio lounge beneath. A 1998 renovation by Todd Oldham with Beilinson Gomez Architects added a rooftop pool and exercise room. The pool deck offers ocean views.
