Completed in 2005 and situated at the centre of Kuala Lumpur's Business District, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is the city's purpose-built facility for international, regional and local conventions, tradeshows, public exhibitions, entertainment and private functions. The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre's total function space is 20,059 m. Inclusive of support areas and circulation space, the facility’s gross built-up area is 120,000 m on a 7.3 acre site.

By looking from above, the convention centre looks like a bird soaring high in the sky, but this one is on the land. The design was actually inspired by the shape of a boomerang and was done by an Australian. Even before its completion in mid 2005, the place was already fully book up to year 2007 for all sorts of conferences and exhibitions. It is also the first convention centre in Asia to achieve 'Benchmarked' status by Green Globe www.greenglobe.org/ Aquaria KLCC www.klaquaria.com/ a 60,000 square feet (5,600 m2) underwater park is located beneath the convention center.
