Former Avro Vulcan K2 XM571 Pad

Between 1984-1990 there was one Avro Vulcan placed on this spot, which acted as "Gate Guardian" for RAF Akrotiri. The type was the only true K2 version "preserved" (although the XH558 used to underwent K2 modification, it was reverted back to B2 configuration in 1985), before being scrapped in 1990.
