The Terry Bundy Generating Station (formerly known as Salt Valley Generating Station) is LES' most efficient natural gas-fired plant uses waste heat from two of the three aero-derivative combustion turbines to create steam which is used to operate a steam turbine and generate additional power. Because of the high plant efficiency, this station is usually the first local resource dispatched to meet customer load and can generate 169 MW on a hot summer day. It also has a 2 MW black start emergency diesel generator unit onsite.
