  Udalguri the name stands after a surrounding of a "Odal" or "Udal" tree. In early times, this was under the -Danavas, Ashuras, Doirang, Sudras, Varmans, Salstambhas, Pala, Devas, Bhuyans, Koch, Bhutias, Tai-Ahom, Mughals etc. This region was having connection with Northern country including China sometimes in the rule of Varmans A.D. 350-650. Udalguri is a district of Northern Assam under the Bodoland Autonomous Territory.
