One of the most famous business place of 1970's. Morethan 100 loads of Forest Woods were shipped to Kallai (calicut) through Iruvazhinji river on evey week. The Cheepankuzhi was just like a port at that time. Many heavy vehicles, and many Chaya Makkanies occupied most areas of streat. Now as everything in the world, Karassery is in post maturity stage. Iruvazhinji is now used for Sand Collection. She lost most of her precious sand and heavy wealth of fishes. When I was child, i could see many of men catching fish from river using Choondal and Hand Nets. Even I was able to catch fishes without knowing anything about fish catching. But, Now most experienced man cannot be able to catch a few fish from the river...The world changed a lot...No, man changed the world..
Everything gone, but men not stopped exploiting the river... and as a natural law, it will continue till...
Karassery also has a very Big rock named 'ManiKetti para'. It was very beautiful, just before 10 years. But if u visit it now, it is like a hell. Dangeous..
