This is a great park in Porter Indiana. It is at the intersection of Waverly road and Franklin Street. It is a really pretty park. There is a lot to do. There are swings and such for the little kids to play on. There is a large area made from reclaimed tires and such with a rope glider. There are baseball diamonds and basketball courts. There is a lovely gazebo where lots of weddings are held in the spring and summer. There is a beautiful community center which can be rented out for parties. Hawthorne park is a relaxing and fun place to spend the day for families or couples. There are grills and picnic tables to use, surrounded by flowers and greenery.
