Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish was established in 1915 to accommodate the rising number of Polish immigrants settling in the area. A church was erected in 1915 and a school the following year. In 1953 the present church was constructed and the old church building refaced to become the parish hall. The school was closed and reopened as César Chavez Academy.
