Hwaseong Sinpungnu (신풍루) (Suwon)

Korea (South) / Kyonggi / Suwon

Sinpungnu is the main gate into Haenggung from the center of town. Known as Jinnamnu when it was constructed in 1790, the gate was renamed five years later under King Jeongjo's direction.

Sinpung means "new home town", indicating that the main gate of Haenggung reflected King Jeongjo's affection for Suwon.
