It is the main church for the Dverberg parish which is part of the Vesterålen prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The white, wooden church was built in a octagonal style in 1843 by the architect Christian Heinrich Grosch. The church seats about 230 people.
