Tom and Barbara Gregory built a hut on the Brandy Flat site in the 1890s. The Gregory's place was replaced by a slab hut in the 1940s by Kevin Foster which had collapsed by 1978. The current hut is situated about a 100m from the original site and was built in the 1980s by the ACT Parks and Conservation service for the use of walkers.
