This is an original Elizabethan school building of present Oakham School founded 1584 by Archdeakon Robert Johnson extensively restored in 1723 and later in 1903. In 1968 Old School was converted, until 2010, into The Shakespeare Centre.
The Old School is grade II* listed building, is closed at present, and waiting as the property of Diocese of Peterborough for another restoration.
