Sakhalin II Tanker Loading Unit (TLU) / Single Point Mooring (SPM)

This SPM is installed 4,8 km offshore from the Oil Export Terminal (OET), positioned near the LNG plant. It sits in water depth of approximately 30m.

Crude oil and condensate is transported through subsea pipelines to the SPM and loaded onto a connected tanker. This particular SPM is able to load up to 50,000 barrels of oil per hour. Because the Aniva Bay is subject to think ice, strong waves, winds and seismic activity, the SPM is specifically designed to resist this powerful forces of nature. The SPM is unmanned, but operated from a tugboat or from the oil tanker. Icebreakers are used to free the way for oil tankers,
