This Benedictine Abbey is comprised of a working Catholic Religious Order, who still make alcoholic cider and cheese in a traditional style, and have a large working farm.
The Saint-Benoit-du-Lac Abbey, founded in 1912, is located in the municipality of Saint-Benoit-du-Lac in Quebec.

In 1912, Benedictine monks from St. Wandrille Abbey in France built the monastery not far from lake Memphrémagog.

There are fifty eight monks (2009) who live according to the monastic rules written by Saint Benedict, from whom the term Benedictine originates.
