Carmel convent of Quebec was founded in 1950 by the Carmelites in Montreal. Transferred to Tewkesbury in 1983, has always ensures their mission of prayer at the heart of the Church. The monastery, whose style is to opened out to nature is located some forty-five kilometers from downtown Quebec, in the Laurentian Mountains, and enjoys the silence and solitude so conducive to the contemplative life. The livelihood of the nuns is mainly gained the production of altar breads. A small guesthouse welcomes ladies only wishing to join the prayers of the nuns.
