All tailing storage cells put together for the mine amount to approximately 8.6 Mtpa, mostly rich in Uranium. Deslimed tailings are used in the creation of the backfill material for the underground mine. Tailings from this mine are the waste product stream from the metallurgical operations. They consist of a slurry of fine rock particles and acidic liquor from which the economically-recoverable minerals have been extracted. The slurry is pumped to the Tailing storage cells, where the solids settle and the liquor is reclaimed to evaporation ponds.
