Gvozno Lake is a quasi-natural lake, feeding from three wellspring situated in the southwestern corner of one flood-meadow in wider area of Gvozno Polje, and seasonal waters of melted snow. However, meadow had a trouble in withholding these waters, so with a help of local mountaineers' intervention in closing some sinks (estavelle) in the meadow, lake is created and sustained on more permanent bases.
