Presently in use aboard the San Antonio Class Landing Platform Dock ships as well as the Freedom Class of Littoral Combat Ships, the MK46 30mm GWS is a 250-rounds per minute chain gun that uses a FLIR sensor, low light television camera and laser range finder to track and engage small, high-speed surface targets.
