The 97 unit condominium complex is made up of a seven story high rise and eight low-rise buildings laid out in a "U" shape around a central court. Constructed in 1967, (Green & Savin, Architects) it was a glamorous place to live. Among the early residents were Stevie Wonder (back when he was Little Stevie Wonder) and several members of the Motown composing team, Holland, Dozier, and Holland. The mid-rise units were rather plain but the low-rise units were exciting - many with 3 bedrooms over two levels. Some with balconies overlooking a 2-story living room. Others had roof decks. All had either an enclosed patio on the lowest level or terraces or balconies on the upper levels.

Known as Regency Square it was a rental property until 1980 when it was converted into a condominium and the name was changed to Parc Lafayette.
