  • Ezhimala is known as the "Mrithasangeevani garden" in the early days. A piece of hill fallen at this area when "Hanumaan" was taking the whole hill with medicine to “Lanka” for saving "LORD RAMA". The villages around Ezhimala are generally called as Ramanthali Panchayat which consists of Ramanthali, Vadakkumbad, Poochal, Kunnaru (from where I am), Palakkod, Ettikkulam etc. Ramanthali panchayat is surrounded with water. You may call this panchayat as an Island with very beautiful seen of sea, rivers and forest (now none). The rest of the area is fully covered with coconut trees. This island is currently connected to Payyanur and Payangadi towns thru two bridges at Ponnakkadvu and Plakkod respectively. The climate is very pleasant at this area. This is one of the points of tourist attraction. Currently the west and south sides of the hill are taken for the Naval Academy purposes. (Mrithasangeevani is a medicine for bringing back the dead person alive) There are lot to write. I leave the rest for our friends.
