This is one of the many grounds where Sachin Tendulkar played and Many youngsters used to play here This garden is named after shri Vithal Harischandra Desai who was a great person devoted his life to services of poor and needy.although he was MALLB qualified in 1950"s he even didnt have a bank account nor any property.He started a charitable gymnacium-mahim vyayam shala on this ground which is still running as non profit trust.
NOWADAYS this place is used to host local cricket and football matches

  • The road-touching portion opposite Nichi Niwas once belonged to the Vaz Family who owned avoer 990 sq.mtrs of land and TWO Bunglows thereon since 18th Century All this was aquired by the BMC in 1962 under town planning act. The Vaz Family received less than 400 sq. mtrs in return from the BMC after THIRTY YEARS around(1994). They now live in MUNNA VILLA opposite the Municipal School on Pitamber Lane.

  • there is a gym attached to this garden.This gym is been looked after by Mr.Bhalchandra N. Sane who has dedicated himslfe to look after the gym
