11-story Beaux-Arts university building completed in 1906. Designed by Townsend, Steinle & Haskell as a store-and-loft building, it is clad in buff-colored brick with bands of rustication. There is a stone cornice above the 2nd floor with a large cartouche at each corner, and a smaller cornice above the 3rd & 9th floors. The windows are grouped in pairs, and slightly recessed, with four bays along Greene Street and three bays on Waverly Place. Just below the roof parapet is a last stone cornice, with cartouches topping each main brick pier. NYU acquired the building 1941. It now houses the Waverly Labs for Computing and Music.
