interesting place, 1904_construction, Beaux-Arts (architecture), firefighting museum
3-story former fire station for Rescue Company No.1. and Engine Company No.30, now a museum. The Beaux-Arts building was completed in 1904. It has a heavily-rusticated ground floor of limestone with three segmental-arched opening formerly used for firefighting vehicles. The two upper floors are clad in alternating columns of stone with quoined edges and red and brown brick in a diamond pattern. The window frames are painted bright red. At the roof is a modillioned stone cornice. The museum has over 10,000 artifacts relating to the history of firefighting.
