  • Sindola Park, built in 1828, is the first house to be constructed in Mahabaleshwar as we know it today. Orginaly=ly constructed by the Raja of Satara as a resort for the visiting Governor of Bombay and the British resident (political agent) at Satara. It passed into british hands after the british take over of Satara state, in 1848. It was purchased by the Ruler of Miraj State in the early 1880's and was used as the summer palace of the Raja of Miraj since then. It is still owned by the royal family of the erstwhile Miraj State.
