The campus will be build on a 1,000 acres of land, located approximately 20km from Shah Alam, 30km from Kuala Lumpur and 10km from Klang. The projected number of students is targeted at 20,000 and the number of buildings is slightly more than 200. The date of completion of construction for the new campus is in year 2009 with a total cost of RM2.4 billion.
In building the simulation, we have to take into account the different platforms that will run the model i.e. PCs for segregated models and SGIs for whole simulation. For that, we break the simulation into 10 processes. The first is the building of the base map. The second process is developing the terrain. After that, the third process is developing the road network. The fourth process is to build the buildings. The fifth process is to model the interior. Then the sixth process is designing the landscape. On to the seventh process is to put in details such as cars, signage, water elements etc. The eighth process is to design the optimization levels eg. LOD, groupings, hierarchy etc. The ninth process is to program a few fixed paths for automatic navigation and the tenth process is to compile the data into simulation.
