The ancient city of Tyana is located in the Kilisehisar area, southwest of Bor and northeast of Kemerhisar. In the Bronze Age, this was the location of Hittite Tuwanuwa, later known as Tyana to the Greeks and Romans. It served as an important regional center in southern Cappadocia, and was named, at one time, Eusebeia, in honor of a Cappadocian king. The remains of a Roman aqueduct that brought water to Tyana can be seen at Kmerhisar.
