Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology (commonly referred to as MIT, Muzaffarpur) is a public, coeducational College of Engineering located at Muzaffarpur in Bihar, India and is wholly funded by Government of Bihar. It is among the Colleges of Engineering which came up just after India attained independence in 1947 (in 1954). The foundation of this institute was laid by the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. It runs undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Engineering and Pharmacy. The institute is one of the reputed institutions of Bihar having a scenic well laid-out campus at Muzaffarpur.

MIT offers undergraduate courses in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics & communication engineering, information technology, leather technology and pharmacy. Post graduate courses (M.Tech and PhD) are conducted in almost all the departments.

Its alumni hold responsible positions (some of them have reached top positions) in government departments, public sector and private sector organizations in India and abroad.
