Also known as Blackhawk Forest Preserve (a large wood carved statue of Blackhawk is situated at this preserve's entrance), it consists of 199 acres of grasslands, wetlands, and woodlands in St. Charles Township. This area has wetlands and the western extension of the River Bend Bike Trail (which joins the Fox River Trail to the east after it crosses the bridge heading north). The preserve extends to the south (east of route 31) with the River Bend Bike Trail till the point where the trail crosses 31 to travel alongside north of Silver Glenn Road.
