Located on Village Point, the Original Lake Arrowhead Village was constructed and opened in 1922. The village was a popular destination thru to the 1970's. By the end of that decade it was decided that the original village was to run down and lacked parking. The choice was made to tear it down and build a more modern village in its place in the same Normandy style. In April of 1979 the village was burned down by various fire departments in San Bernardino County in an exercise called, 'Burn to Learn.'

While many long time visitors and residents were very sad to see the Old Village destroyed, the new Village is still a popular destination year round, but especially in the summer when it can be difficult to find a parking spot.
