This Temple was constructed by Late Shri Dutta Ram Anthwal, father of Late Shri Butha Ram Anthwal.
Now Anthwal Samiti and Jwalpa Devi Samiti takes care of the temple.
Anthwals are pujari,(priests), here since the temple was constructed.
They offer a special puja on the occasion of navratri.
The temple is dedicated to devi Parvati(an incarnation of Durga) who is the Adhishtatri Devi of the himalyas.
According to the legend daughter of asur raj Pulom prayed here to the goddes and pleased her to get Devraj Indra as husband.
Devi Appeared in the form of deeptimaan Jwala, (Great Holy Fire).
Since then this place is a shaktipeeth.
In the ancient sacred Hindu texts this Temple is reffered as Jwalpeshwari dham on the bank of Nawalika, (Nav balika Ganga), river under the Kedarkhand region.

  • Hi This is Manoj Anthwal from Aneth only. We are running mandir samiti in jwalpa Dham for last around 20 years and did many things for Temple. I don't know when did you last visited the temple. the better way to do something is try to get involved personally and do what ever you want to do as per wish to temple, you can discuss with the team and pick any work, that will be the best way, sometime just giving money does not help. If you want to know about your roots I can connect you with old guys.

  • Jwalpa devi mandir is a blessed place. It has given so much to us, it is time we do something to renovate it by constructing a bigger temple at the same place so that all pilgrims visiting the temple are comfortable whilst praying or meditating in the temple. We also need to beautify the surroundings of the temple and the path from main road to the temple. More ideas on this project are welcome. I do not know if the samitis managing the temple will agree to this idea but wishes of Jwalpa devi will prevail.

  • this temple was constructed in 19 Mar 1892. Anthwal are priest of this temple, the temple was constructed by thapliyal. The person who has written this history is not aware about the temple, actually anthwal are earning but thapliyal had donated. This is shamefull for these guy to ignore those people who had establshed this temple and donated. Harish thapliyal

  • an oft-repeated tale goes like this: Daityaraj Pulom's daughter Sachi wanted to marry Devraj Indra. She prayed to Jwalpa Devi who appeared to her in the form of Dipiman Jwaleshwari and her wish was fulfilled.
  • Totally fake story because devraj Indra is transgender according to our holly books. Than how it can possible a woman wants transgender husband.

  • And if temple build in 1892 than how people know that Asur kanya puloma has prayed here to get lord indra as husband. And according to our holly books Asur found in dwapar yug before 864000 years. So it's not a authenticate story only based on assumption
